The Riverside Cup - Sunday 31st March

Dear Rovers Members,

This weekend features the inaugural Riverside Cup that will take place as a pre-season competition celebrating 3 clubs in the Gladesville Hornsby Football Association.

This is an initiative between Gladesville Ravens, Putney Rangers and West Ryde Rovers to instill a bit of pre-season rivalry whilst enjoying a social day with your teams.

Games will be competitive, will have refs, and we will be playing for the Riverside Cup, a trophy to be held by the winning club for the next 12 months.

Note: Trial matches are scheduled where possible with teams graded at similar levels right throughout the day.

Given Rovers is the biggest club of the three, not all teams could be accommodated in the draw for a trial match. (see draw below)

Trial Matches are scheduled at Bill Mitchell, ELS Hall, Morrison Bay, Bremner and Peel Park. (see draw below picture noting there are U15/3s and U11/5s matches at Curtis Oval not part of the Cup)

The Riverside Cup has been on the agenda for a few years now to get up and running and you can understand that a significant amount of work has gone into it to get it to this stage.

Note: You can wear boots to play matches this week.

This is a great initiative and the last chance to have a trial before the season starts on April 6th so if you are scheduled to play, get your team mates together, enjoy some good football and support the Rovers in our quest to be the inaugural winners of the Riverside Cup for 2019.
